The Harbor Joins the 2026 Astoria Regatta Parade: Everybody Deserves a Safe Harbor

The Harbor was proud to join community organizations, businesses, schools, marching bands, and neighbors from across the region for the 2026 Astoria Regatta Grand Land Parade on Saturday, August 8. This year marked the 132nd Astoria Regatta, with the theme “Raised on the River” celebrating the maritime culture and history that are such an important part of our community. For The Harbor, it also gave us the perfect opportunity to share a simple message: Everyone deserves a safe harbor.
Showing Up for Our Community
The Harbor’s parade float embraced the Regatta’s maritime theme while highlighting a message at the heart of our work. For nearly 50 years, The Harbor has provided free and confidential advocacy, prevention, and support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking throughout Clatsop County.
That work takes many forms, from emergency shelter and our 24-hour crisis line to housing support, legal and medical advocacy, culturally specific services, youth programs, and violence prevention education.
But our mission also calls us out into the community. Participating in events like the Astoria Regatta gives our team an opportunity to connect with the people who make Clatsop County home, increase awareness of the support available to survivors, and remind our neighbors that The Harbor is here when they need us.
Celebrating Astoria's Maritime Community
The Grand Land Parade traveled through downtown Astoria along Exchange and Duane streets, bringing the community together for a sunny Saturday afternoon of floats, classic vehicles, marching bands, local organizations, and more.
The parade was one part of a weekend full of traditions celebrating Astoria’s connection to the river and maritime community, including the Regatta, Seamen’s Memorial, Regatta court coronation, dignitaries reception, and boat parade.
We loved having the opportunity to be part of this longstanding Astoria tradition and to see so many members of our community along the parade route. Thank you to everyone who waved, cheered, and helped make the 2026 Astoria Regatta a memorable weekend. And whether we’re walking through downtown Astoria on a sunny summer afternoon or answering our crisis line in the middle of the night, our message remains the same: Everyone deserves a safe harbor.
