2023 Holiday Hope Campaign

Prevention education is an integral part of our work, and our hope is that one day our community will be free from violence, and that our services will no longer be needed.

Hope begins with YOU!

Director of Sexual Violence Programs, Mia Matias, oversees youth programs at The Harbor. She shares:

The number of 2SLGBTQIA+ and Latinx youth accessing our services has increased substantially. Schools across our county have requested support from The Harbor, including prevention education and/or facilitating safer spaces at Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) groups. Prevention education is an integral part of our work, and our hope is that one day our community will be free from violence, and that our services are no longer needed.

Regardless of our values and beliefs, I think we can all agree that we want our children to be safe, healthy, and happy—and providing them with the tools and information to create and sustain loving relationships is a crucial part of that.

Mia adds, “The youth we work with impress and inspire me. They know exactly who they are and feel completely entitled to be seen, loved, respected, celebrated, and supported—as they should be. That is what we are here to do.”

A donation to The Harbor supports survivors and critical prevention work. Your donation is an investment in a safer community for our children. Your generosity ensures our work continues to end violence in our community and preventing it before it even begins
