Position:                              Community Outreach & Events Coordinator

Status:                                  30 -40 hours / week

Pay:                                       $17-22/hour

Benefits:                             Monthly health stipend; Paid time off and sick leave package

Hours:                                  Primarily weekdays, occasional evenings, weekends and on-call shifts

Responsible to:                Executive Director

The Community Outreach & Events Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, training, and management of volunteers within the organization. The position will work closely with the Executive Director to coordinate and plan new fundraising events and ensure that existing events happen throughout the year. The Community Outreach & Events Coordinator will also maintain and update the organizations’ social media and website presence. The Community Outreach & Events Coordinator will often serve as the initial contact for community partners and donors interested in investing in The Harbor. This person will also support The Harbor in providing 24/7 services through our Domestic/Sexual Assault Response Team, meaning there is an on-call element to this role.

Scope of Duties:

Ability to represent the mission, values and philosophy of The Harbor to program participants, employees, agency stakeholders and the public.

 This position requires a dynamic individual with experience in management of volunteers, nonprofit fundraising, and event planning. The position is socially demanding and will be a high-contact role. The job requires an individual capable of both working independently and in a team setting. Also required is a high level of sound judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills.
