The Sexual Assault Peer Center at The Harbor was designed to support the healing process for survivors in a safe environment. Sexual assault, no matter how recent the event, can sometimes feel like being in the middle of a storm. The Harbor offers shelter from that storm, a place for both body and spirit to heal from abuse.
The Services offered at the SA Peer Center;
~24 hour response for individuals needing support directly after a sexual assault
~Advocacy and support during medical examinations, evidence collection and legal proceedings,should the survivor choose to report
~One on one peer support with specially trained staff
~Confidential support groups for female survivors
~Lending library and referrals for other services
The case managers at The Harbor in our SA Peer Center are specially trained to identify the survivors needs, explain their options, connect them with appropriate resources and answer questions regarding trauma responses. The SA Peer Center case management program ensures that sexual assault survivors have ongoing support and information based upon empowerment and trust.
The Harbor serves Clatsop County and surrounding areas. We are an advocacy based organization serving survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual violence and stalking. Beyond working with female survivors, the SA Peer Center staff work with adults molested as children and teens over the age of 14.
Education and outreach is an important part of our mission at The Harbor, so we offer information on services for male sexual assault survivors and the LGBTQ community.
Our goal is to break the cycle of violence for everyone through education, one on one support, practical assistance and referrals.
